The Imperial Commandress
Military Affairs Department
The purpose of this department is to recognize and support Imperial Court Daughters who have served or are currently serving in the Uniformed Armed Services.
The Imperial Court is showing its support through the development of this department, which promotes awareness and support to all of our Uniformed Armed Services members while enhancing our abilities to support our Imperial Court Daughters in and out of uniform.
Ruth M. Ellerbe Thinking Pink Department
The Ruth M. Ellerbe Thinking Pink Initiative
- provides timely information on breast cancer awareness, diagnosis, treatment, and cancer care support;
- promotes advocacy for breast cancer research, treatment, and support within our communities;
- provides financial support to breast cancer programs;
- supports and empowers our members and their families who are survivors or currently breast cancer patients; and
- encourages our members to volunteer and network in local, community-based breast cancer awareness programs.
Domestic Violence Department
Affecting an estimated 10 million people annually, domestic violence is an unfortunate reality in the United States. Statistically, one in four women and one in nine men are victims, and these numbers are likely even higher, as many cases are never reported.
We aim to promote advocacy by
- encouraging individuals within the community to educate themselves on learning to recognize the warning signs of domestic violence,
- listening to and reassuring victims that they are not alone, and
- advocating for legislation that protects the victims of domestic violence and holds perpetrators accountable.
We pledge to take action to end domestic violence.
